A Welshie Big Adventure in Scotland

Perhaps you recognize this photo of Eilean Donan Castle? Flipping through the Fodor's Essential Scotland travel guide, I recognized the picture immediately. Brian and I completed a puzzle featuring this exact photo during the COVID lockdown.

There is not much to see in the castle itself, however, the external views reminded us of the days we spent doing puzzles and reconnecting with our two daughters who were home from school.

I can imagine how ominous it must have been living here when the weather was dark and foreboding. The mountains would be dark with the clouds hanging over the water. With no glass in the castle windows it would be cold and the drafts coming through would chill a person to the bone.

Oh, I'm so happy for you, Fernanda and Brian, for having this Scotland adventure... and this castle really grabbed my heart. I would love to exprience what you're experiencing! I love how you described imagining life in the castle hundreds of years ago...
