5 Things to do Before July

In the next couple weeks, I encourage you do accomplish these 5 things before July. Why? Because it will set you up for the summer and start the season off right. Found something I am missing? Post it in the comment section!
Set a summer reading goal and pick your books. Download them, buy them, or put them on hold at your local library. Look at your bookshelves or stacks and see what you have not read yet.

preparing a summer reading list pays off Plan a local summer outing. It does not have to be far from home or even expensive. Planning a summer outing gives you an activity or adventure to look forward to during time spent working.

paddling down a river Smell some flowers. The lilacs are blooming, roses are opening up and depending on where you are in the world there is likely a plant in your yard or on a path that needs to be sniffed. Why? Because the delightful aromas will excite your senses and just might make you smile - or sneeze.

a lilac in bloom Clean out a closet or a set of drawers. Why? Because it is likely long overdue and why not start out the summer with some free space. While you are at it, remember to take any unwanted items to your local ReStore, Goodwill or charity shop.

decluttering Have a picnic. By yourself or with others it does not matter. Make it at home, go to the grocery store, or takeout. Find an old blanket, bring a portable speaker, get some bug spray, and get outdoors. Why? Because this is the time of year when most people are able to do so, and being outside, and breathing fresh air is good for you. And when the weather turns cold and dreary, you will wish you had taken me up on this.

So, there you have it. A short list of easily accomplished items to get you really ready for the next two months. I'm off to start accomplishing my list, what about you?
